Nokia E72 Firmware Update v51 Changelog

If you have a Nokia E72, check the software updater on the device or your computer because an update is forthcoming. Email, calendar, and contacts experience are expected to improve and there will be some menu layout changes. Check out the long changelog after the jump.
The full version number is 051.018.

No changes to vanilla memory cards
Altogether 450+ errors are fixed.

The Nokia E72 runs on Symbian S60 3.2. It features a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and it is one of the thinnest QWERTY devices in the market. You can check the Nokia E72 full specifications for more details.

Nokia C6 Firmware Update 11.0.029 Changelog

If you have the Nokia C6, check the software updater on the device or your computer because some people have seen the v11 update already. This is not a major update, but it provides better stability and fixes some bugs with the email client. Read on for the changelog.

Stability

Browser baseline updated, about 250 corrections
Widgets are leaking RAM, amount of memory leak decreased a lot
MPX Harvester stopped scanning when encounters File System corruption or other issues
Improvement to refreshing library in Music player
Securewidgetpreinstaller slows phone start
Boot up improved in production

Email

Mail for Exchange: calendar sync improved
E-mail message gets scrambled by Email – forwarded or replied email are scrambled and full of foreign (mostly Chinese) characters
Special characters are not displayed correctly in opened mail

Usability

Big Clock not shown when device lock activated
Device lock fixed

The rollout is probably not complete because my Nokia C6 do not see any updates yet. Let us know where you are if the firmware update is already available for your Nokia C6.

App Video: Gravity Updated to 1.32 with New Images Section

Gravity, one of our favorite apps for Symbian was just updated to version 1.32 (build 6601) to include a new images section. It also fixes a couple of bugs. The new image section lets you easily change the image size and the photo hosting service on the fly. We have a video after the jump to show you how it looks.

Nokia C7 Preview by Mobile Review

Mobile Review did it again by publishing an early preview of the unannounced Nokia C7. This device has been leaked several times already, but it won’t be available in stores until the end of 2010 or early 2011 according to the infamous reviewer Eldar Murtazin. In short, he thinks the Nokia C7 is basically the Nokia N8 in a different body with a lower price.

Here are snippets from Eldar’s Nokia C7 Preview:

Nokia C7 will sell better (than the Nokia N8) due to lower price and will prove that cameras in phones are not so important for average consumers.
The quality of plastic in the white version is similar to Nokia C6 and Nokia N97.
Featurewise this model is a copy of Nokia N8 apart from an 8 MP camera and the absent HDMI.
It has the resolution of 640

The Nokia C3 also has a 2 megapixel camera and comes in gold, slate, and hot pink. It’s marketed as an affordable smartphone aimed at the younger audience.
Let me remind you that buyers from Vietnam and Indonesia didn’t need to see cleavage from a sexy model. Large crowds lined up for the Nokia C3 at launch.

Nokia announces the 5250, a new Symbian^1 device

Interesting that Nokia today announced another new piece of hardware, the Nokia 5250. This is a Symbian^1 (aka S60 5th Edition) device that looks to be a rather low cost device for those who want a touchscreen device. It only supports the EDGE data network and has a 2.8 inch display so it is nothing that anyone here reading Nokia Experts will likely want. However, there are millions of people who only have EDGE connectivity so this may be the perfect device for them. The good thing about seeing these types of continuing hardware announcements before Nokia World is that we should hopefully see some major news there. I know we will see the N8, but am hoping to see Nokia reveal their next flagship device (maybe the N9) since so many people still have a bad taste from the N97 that could have been so good. Do you live in the LA area or do you happen to be passing through this weekend? If so, then make sure to sign up for and attend the Nokia E73 Beach Party put on by Nokia. I’ll be heading out camping here in Washington State with my family, but thinking about you all on the beach Nokia puts on some good parties and there will be food and drinks provided, along with lots of fun. They will actually be loaning out E73 Mode evaluation units so if you are interested in checking one out make sure to swing on by. Nokia C7 Hands-On Photos Leaked Yet Again

The Nokia C7 has been leaked several times already that it’s safe to assume it will be announced at Nokia World in a few weeks. According to Zol who already have their hands on the C7, it is equipped with the new Symbian^3 OS and 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen like the Nokia N8, but with 8MP camera and dual-LED flash. They took a bunch of photos for you to check out.

The Nokia C7 looks thin and the materials remind me of Eseries phones like the Nokia E72 and E73. We still don’t have information on pricing and availability. More photos are available at Zol.
