Whilst I was away at Nokia World recently, it seems that the guys over at nokia Beta Labs have been equally as busy pushing out new applications for our devices. This one in particular is called Nokia Green Explorer, and joint Partner, WWF provide great tips and advice on how to live green and travel clean.
Green Explorer is a web-based service, but the device experience is a key point from consumer experience perspective. The mobile site can be accessed on the go, and the Green Explorer widgets are available for free in Ovi Store for several Symbian devices. With the widget, you can save your favorite data in a mobile notebook and use it offline while traveling, without having to pay for roaming costs.
By visiting just one site you can find information and eco tips about a destination, check out local WWF projects and UNESCO World Heritage sites nearby, and get visitor tips and viewpoints. The focus of the service is shifting from eco travel to sustainable lifestyle - after all, all the places we visit are home to someone. Green Explorer also supports the raising trend of “staycation”; people spending their vacation close to home and exploring their surroundings.
Checkout the video below, and see what Green Explorer from Nokia has to offer.
