Insight into a Recent Q&A with Nokia & the N97 Firmware

28th of July 2009, I received an email from WOM World Nokia, inviting me to attend a live Q&A with the Nokia technical Team regarding the N97 Firmware. This is part of the email I received..

I’d like to invite you to a virtual Q&A session on Thursday 30^th July at 1700 BST about the recent firmware update and where you see the N97 going in the future; to clear up any queries you have about the new software, and give you a chance to air any ideas you have for future updates.

This will be an exclusive open discussion moderated by WOM World / Nokia, and we’ll be joined by Nokia representative, Catalin Gheorghiu, a member of the technical team working on the recent firmware upgrade. This session represents your chance to voice questions/ queries you and your community are interested in and would like to learn more about.

I was very excited to have the chance of putting Nokia Users N97 owners suggestions, idea’s, and recommendations for improving the N97 via firmware, and posted a thread on our forums, asking N97 owners to list their recommendations, and suggestions on what could improve the current state of the N97, which is running V11.

Remember, these idea’s, suggestions, and reports were mainly coming from experienced Nokia device users, and N97 owners that actually know S60 like the back of their hands. For a couple of days the ideas, suggestions etc came flooding in from all our N97 owners. I carefully compiled a list detailing all these ideas, and suggestions in a document, removing any duplicates, and then putting them in priority order. The most mentioned first, and so on.
