Could this be the end of the road for Ovi Share?

oviI for one, have been using Ovi Share since its launch, and have given it more than a fare chance to do well, plugging it whenever possible, mentioning the unlimited online storage for all your Photos, and Videos etc, but this recent article I came across this morning, has really put a spanner in the works.  It saddens me to read it.

Ok, the article, we will get to that in a moment, it states that Ovi Share will continue to run, “as is”.  Basically, what that means, is Ovi Share will run in its current state, with no backing from Nokia.

Whats sad, is Ovi Share had so so much potential, it really did, so why throw in the towel now Nokia?  Why?  Being as its tied in with the Brand, OVI, is this not a bad move on your part?  Would it not of been a more realistic plan to of implemented the site further, and integrate it with its competition, free, or paid for?  Adding sharing options across platforms?

I really do hope that the team left in place can maintain Ovi Share in a way where the service is safe, and at least gets improved where bugs are found, and reported.  One of which I have been in touch with a contact at Nokia with regards to the EXIF data of photos being missing since the recent revamp of Ovi Share.  Was this really a revamp you have to ask?

Anyway, onto the article.  “Click Read More”
